Bureau Baubotanik

Oliver Storz and Hannes Schwertfeger have been working together as Bureau Baubotanik since 2010.
Baubotanik is a plant-based architecture. Its development is a performative imaginative format over a long period of growth and decay. Every project conceived and realized as a botanical building is the result of an ongoing process that combines ecological, social, cultural, technical and political requirements. Baubotanik raises society’s awareness of the value, functionality and cultural engineering of green infrastructures in cities and conurbations. Structures conceived and built in botanical terms not only increase the quality of life and improve ecosystems, but are also strongly embedded in their social context and enter into interdependencies with it. The work of the Bureau Baubotanik focuses on the conception of green infrastructures as performative spaces of imagination.
