Lothar Kittstein

Lothar Kittstein studied German language and literature, history and philosophy in Hanover and Bonn. After his promotion in modern history, Kittstein worked as a dramaturge at the Cologne theatre. He has been working as a self-employed author and dramaturge since 2007. He has written texts for the Thalia Theatre Hamburg, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Kammerspiele München, the Berliner Ensemble and repeatedly for the Bonn fringe ensemble. He founded the German-Swiss theatre collective RAUM + ZEIT with director Bernhard Mikeska in 2009. In 2020, he worked with Volker Lösch on a rewrite of Ibsen’s Volksfeind at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, followed by Recht auf Jugend in Bonn, an adaptation of Brecht’s Dreigroschenoper in Dresden and most recently 216 Millionen at the Schauspielhaus Bonn.
