Azade Shahmiri

Azade Shahmiri is a theater and performance artist based in Tehran and Berlin. Her artistic practices and processes move between forms of theater, performance, lecture, and video installation, which are closely interwoven with personal narratives and readings from the past through documents, materials, and archives. Azade’s artistic works have been shown in various theaters and festivals, including Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Wiener Festwochen, Kaserne Basel, Edinburgh Festival, Kyoto Experiment, Theater de l’Usine, Asian Arts Theater Gwangju, and Theater Festival of Kerala. She recently presented her work in the process Ongoing Archive for Endless Performances at EinTanzHaus Mannheim.
