Edan Gorlicki

Edan Gorlicki sees himself as a dance activist. He is the founder and artistic director of INTER-ACTIONS in Heidelberg, an association dedicated to cultural sustainability work for the development of dance art. As a dancer, he has danced for renowned companies such as the Batsheva Ensemble Dance Company, Inbal Pinto Dance Company, NND/Galilidance and Club Guy & Roni. His own choreographic works have been awarded numerous prizes, including the Dance and Theater Prize of the City of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg in 2017 and 2019. He was also nominated for the Silesian Golden Mask Award in 2016. Edan also supports other makers as a coach, mentor, outside-eye and rehearsal director.

Edan Gorlicki’s artistic work is based on the question of how people interact with their environment. Multi-layered, complex and thought-provoking, his productions are dedicated to the social, psychological and emotional issues of our time. From 2019 to 2022, he worked on a trilogy that explores the social impact of individual, collective and intergenerational trauma. In 2023, Edan explored the role of the body in capitalism and in 2024, he is dedicating his artistic research towards understanding conflict through movement.
